Arts Awards at Art for Artists CIC

At Art for Artists CIC, we believe in inclusion, creativity, accessibility, self-leadership, and providing meaningful opportunities for children and young people through the arts.

Our programmes create accessible creative pathways for all children and young people, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are passionate about making high-quality visual arts education engaging, adaptable, and accessible to everyone.

Arts Award Opportunities

We offer Arts Award opportunities through workshops, projects, schools, community programmes, holiday activities, and cultural events.

Participants can work towards:

  • Discover Arts Award

  • Explore Arts Award

  • Bronze Arts Award

  • Silver Arts Award

  • Gold Arts Award

We also offer Discover in a Day, providing children and young people with the opportunity to achieve their first Arts Award through a creative, engaging, and accessible workshop experience.

Meet Our Arts Award Assessor

Eliyah Qureshi is a professional artist, art educator, founder, and Creative Director with over 20 years of experience in the creative industry.

She has worked extensively with children and young people, particularly those with SEND, learning disabilities, autism, and additional support needs. Ila is passionate about creating inclusive visual arts programmes that build confidence, communication skills, creativity, and self-expression.

Our Arts Award programmes go beyond qualifications. We design high-quality visual arts projects that encourage children and young people to explore artists, develop creative skills, exhibit work, connect with their communities, and celebrate their achievements.

Why Take Part?

Arts Awards help young people:

  • Develop creativity and self-expression

  • Build confidence and communication skills

  • Explore artists and creative careers

  • Develop leadership and teamwork skills

  • Celebrate their identity and creative voice

  • Gain nationally recognised qualifications

  • Create a portfolio of creative achievement

SEND Arts Awards

We specialise in delivering Arts Awards for SEND children and young people.

Our programmes are adapted to meet individual needs and allow participants to engage in creative learning at their own pace. Through visual arts, young people can develop confidence, independence, communication, and meaningful social connections in a supportive environment.

How Arts Awards Work

Arts Awards are not stand-alone qualifications that can be completed through registration alone.

Young people work towards their qualification through participation in our regular creative programmes, workshops, projects, exhibitions, and community activities. To successfully achieve an Arts Award, participants are encouraged to take part in ongoing programmes and, where appropriate, receive additional tuition and portfolio support.

We work closely with our sister organisation, Barkingside Art Club, allowing children and young people to access a wider range of creative opportunities, including:

  • Weekly art classes and workshops

  • SEND creative programmes

  • Community arts projects

  • Exhibitions and showcases

  • Creative Ambassador opportunities

  • Leadership and volunteering experiences

  • Cultural events and festivals

This joined-up approach helps participants build a meaningful portfolio while becoming part of a wider creative community.
