What We Do

At Art for Artists CIC (Afora), we believe creativity has the power to transform lives, build confidence, reduce isolation, and create stronger, more connected communities.

We design and deliver inclusive creative programmes, workshops, exhibitions, and community projects that support children, young people, families, and underrepresented communities through visual art education and meaningful creative engagement.

Our work is rooted in inclusion, accessibility, wellbeing, self-expression, and opportunity — ensuring creativity is accessible to everyone, particularly children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Our Creative Pathways

Early Childhood & Family Creative Play

Sensory and creative play workshops designed to support early development, communication, confidence, imagination, and parent-child connection through accessible creative engagement.

Creative Programmes

4 – 11 Years

Inclusive visual arts programmes that encourage creativity, confidence, social interaction, self-expression, and creative exploration in safe and supportive environments.

Portfolio, Leadership & Transition Programmes

11 – 25 Years

Creative pathways supporting young people through:

  • Portfolio development

  • Arts Awards qualifications

  • Volunteering and work experience

  • Creative leadership opportunities

  • Social engagement and mentoring

Our programmes particularly support SEND young people and those experiencing social isolation or barriers during transition into adulthood.

Girls & Young Women Programmes

11 – 25 Years

We are passionate about empowering girls and young women with SEND through creativity, leadership, and meaningful social opportunities.

Working alongside organisations, schools, professionals, and service providers, we create safe spaces where young women can:

  • Build confidence and independence

  • Develop creative and leadership skills

  • Form positive social connections

  • Access meaningful opportunities and support pathways

Advocacy Through Creativity

We strongly advocate for inclusive visual art education and equal access to creative opportunities for all children and young people.

We believe creativity can:

  • Empower voices

  • Strengthen wellbeing

  • Build confidence and identity

  • Reduce social isolation

  • Create meaningful community connections

Through creativity, we help children and young people feel seen, valued, included, and inspired.

Our Vision

We envision a world where creativity is accessible to all and where every child and young person has the opportunity to thrive, connect, and be heard through the arts.
